So much easier to load.
Used this rack for the first time yesterday May 25, 2023. So much easier to use than the hanging rack we used previously. Assembly was easy, and the adjustments as well. Time will tell if the plastic adjustment parts will stand up to use. It is almost a breeze to use.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Solid construction but annoying to use
Recently purchased on sale. Most of the reviews would make you think this thing is great. Not enough reviews indicating issues. Top things I am not liking already:
- poor quality control on bars with thru holes. I had to use a drill to get rid of burrs preventing the bolts from going through.
- the ability to tilt the rack is nice but I’ve only had to do it a few times and already annoyed with it . Need to remove safety pin, remove weight from rack then slide out the locking pin and tilt. Other systems I’ve used including less expensive ones use a spring loaded pin that you can just pull and then tilt. Tilting it up with the full bike rack (not just the half rack and no bikes installed ) can be heavy.
- removing the 2nd part of the rack with two bike holders requires to fully unscrew about 2 inches off the bolt to get out. Not a quick procedure.
- no locking feature for the rack to hitch
Things that I like.
- Solid construction
- when on sale the price is right
Verdict: I will work with it for a dinner but save up for a nicer bike rack with better ease of use features.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Sturdy, but wish it was lockable
Seems sturdy and well built. I like that it's adjustable for 2 or 4 bikes. Hitch bolt needs to be ratcheted on and off. Only thing I would prefer was some kind of locking mechanism for anti-theft. I threaded a security cable and padlock through the bike frames and down onto the trailer hitch.

Well set up... lots of room for bikes...seems very sturdy and well thought out... good for 1/2 tons etc more so. Should last over saskatchewan roads.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: We've bought this rack last week. I've tried to get the rack in the up-right position but the pin can't get throught. We're not able to close the rack while we don't use it! It is very annoying. Other people have had this issue?

A: Same, same, it needs wiggle and a couple taps but for sure annoying assuming it may not always work I have to ensure tools in the car.

Q: Can you tilt the rack so you can get full access to the trunk WITH the bikes all attached. Or do you have to remove the bikes to gain trunk access.

A: I have a minivan and need to at least remove the two bikes closest to the trunk in order to open it. Tilt function is only up when all bikes are off.

Q: Do the moveable hooks have a lock?

A: No. What ever lock you choose don’t leave your bikes unattended, there’s no lock that I’ve seen so far that can prevent theft on a bike rack. If the bad guy wants your bike, he’s going to get it :(

Q: Will this rack hold step-thru bikes (no top bar)? I know sometimes a cross bar attachment is needed for other racks. Thanks.

A: yes you can - that's why we picked it. The first photo on CTC website shows a step-thru bike loaded on the rack being held down at the seat, and found you-tube video reviews also showing step-thru bike loaded, held down on the middle bar. We bought the rack first, just waiting to pick up my new step-thru bike.

Q: Has anyone used this bike rack on the back of an RV with e-bikes? Not needing 4 bikes on it just two - any other comments about usage with step through e-bikes?

A: Hi! Check the manual, but if your e-bike (for exemple) has less than 20 Kg, will do the job. The rack is very strong. Total max load is 80 Kg for 4 bikes. Not that I've been using in a VUS (not an RV).

Q: In the instructions manual under parts there are 2 tethered pin. What is the second tethered pin for in the instruction manual? Only one was supplied in the box and as far as I can see only 1 is required for locking from horizontal to vertical ? Thanks.

2 Answers
A: I've used both tethered pins in the installation. The first one (which I'm guessing is the one you've used) is Part Number (I) and is the larger tethered pin is used to secure the stinger base. The second tethered pin which is smaller is Part Number (H) and is used to secure the entire bike platform onto your vehicle's 2X2 hitch. You tighten the bolt and secure it with the pin on the other side once fully tightened.

Q: Will this carrier hold a kids bike with 18inch wheels
4 years ago
2 Answers
A: My little guy rides a child mountain bike with 20” wheels and it fit on the rack without any issues. The wheel holders slide to adjust to the wheelbase of the bikes, so you should be able to fit it. That said, the clamp for the top bar might be at its lower limit for a smaller bike though. Good luck!
