A: Thank you for your question. The pole diameter is 1.5" and will fit through a table's designated umbrella hole of a larger diameter. A base is recommended to provide additional stability.

Q: I bought yhe Canvas market umbrella and also a base. When assembled it would not fit into the base. Does the umbrella only fit in specific base? If so which one. I do not want to return unless nececessary.
