Nice size, but small flame area.

The flame section is quite a bit smaller than it appears in the pictures. It's maybe only 10 inches in diameter, and there's a large border of space around it that doesn't get that hot. Tried arranging the rocks in different styles and not a lot of difference in heat for the outer rocks. I was hoping most of the center section of the table would be the flame area, but not the case. Okay for what it is, but don't pay full price. I bought it on clearance so looks like I'm stuck with it. Pick the regular wood fire pit or a simple fire bowl in this price range, unless you really want the table portion.

A: Its fine on a wood deck. Unless your deck is made of ikea furniture it'll be okay. Follow all other guidelines and its fine.

Q: How should the surface of the table be cleaned? ie water marks etc

A: - I haven't been able to get the marks off my table - I'm thinking I may have to spray paint the top & lid (which is probably a good idea seeing as there's rust around the ring on the lid)

A: There isn't much heat going down, nearly all of the heat goes up. I keep an eye on the wooden deck below the fire pit and it seems to be just fine. If you are still concerned you might want to buy some sheet metal and place it under the fire pit.

Q: How does this table stay lit? It never stays lit after the 1-2 minutes of the knob being held down. Gas on low, as per instructions, but it extinguishes every time! Is it possible the thermocouple is faulty?
