Q: Can this tank be mounted vertically rather than horizontally?

A: It is made to mount on top of the pressure pump. If you have a way of mounting it in the vertical position there should be no reason it would not work. The vertical tanks have the mounting plate on the end.

Q: How do you drain tank. I want to use this tank at my cottage and it will be exposed to freezing temp.

A: Unplug the pump and open the nearest tap to the tank. Unscrew the bottom tank T to eliminate any quantity of remaining water in piping. The pre-charge air pressure should have emptied the tank. Then do not forget to remove the piping from the pump and turn it upside down to remove water into the pump.

Q: Do I need an air volume control valve with this tank?

A: This pressure tank is designed to be use with a jet pump or a deep well pump without an air volume control. However, it is not recommended to be use with a piston pump. An air volume control is required only for a galvanized tank where you do not have separate chambers for the air and the water in the tank.

Q: How many psi is this unit rated? 100psi? Comes fully charged to max? Thanks! It shows the gallons, but nothing about psi rating (I need 100psi) and that it comes pre-charged to 100psi (they usually do). thanks! David.

A: This tank is tested at 100PSI and rated to operate up to 75 PSI. It is pre-charge to 28 PSI (+- 10%) for being use with a 30-50 pumping system. You can drop to 18 PSI to fit a 20-40 pumping system. However, for a higher pressure setting, you can pump air into the tank using the valve at the opposite side of the connector.
