This is a great product. It is well made and the peg is easy to install. I used a quick setting concrete mix to anchor the peg for extra support.

Q: does this product anchor into the ground or is there a base to keep it stable on the ground surface. What about a really windy day? The video wasn't clear

A: My Parents installed a clothesline very much like this, 50 years ago, and what they did, was to dig a hole into the ground about a foot deep, fill it with concrete, insert the lower half of the center pole of the clothesline (I believe there was a "cap" that fit over the end in the ground), let the concrete dry, and finish assembling the clothesline. They also strung a length of clothesline from the corner of the frame, and attached it to the small entry door frame, on the garage. Since the cotter pins in the top weren't made of rust-proof metal, those are now also broken, and I will be replacing the clothesline, with a new one. (From Canadian Tire, of course!)

Q: What size concrete block is recommended? I'm going to dig a hole in my garden, fill a pail or sono tube with concrete and cement a pipe that will hopefully accept the 45mm pole perfec. What dimension should the concrete be to keep this from falling over?

A: We filled in 2ft x 2ft of cement around the pole. We even hand large items like comforters on it and so far it is holding up perfectly.

Q: instead of spiking it into the ground can it be hanged instead? will the top loop support the 55lbs limit?

Q: I see this model comes with a plastic ground anchor. Is this meant to be used with a metal ground spear or cemented into the ground as it is?

A: If you use the plastic ground anchor then you will need to cement it in the ground. The metal ground spikes that are sold separately do not need to be cemented into the ground.

A: I would def call before you dig. The stake goes in at least a foot deep. All my electrical and tv cables etc are underground here. so unless you know where they are I’d call. Though gas and water lines are deep, cable for example is just under the surface. Plus things can migrate in the earth due to frost heave etc.

A: I bought the ground spike they also make which you beat into the ground if it's going on your lawn. Works great. I bought that through CT as well.

A: Tel qu’il arrive, dans la boite il y a un piquet en acier de 18po au moins qu’on doit enfoncer dans le sol avec une masse. Puis le parasol s’installe (et s’enlève) dans le trou du piquet.. Dans les instructions on ne parle de l’installer sur un patio. Faudrait demander au fabricant directement.
