Excellent sturdy product that comes with the ground spike. I was very dismayed that the CT website indicated the spike was frequently bought separately from the umbrella dryer, so I unnecessarily bought and installed the spike before opening the umbrella to find one enclosed.

This product is perfect for all season use if you want. My first one exactly the same, I used for 25 years! Absolutely recommend this product. The only reason we had to replace it was because of a severe windstorm, and one of the arms got bent, otherwise I am thrilled with this product.

Q: re: the top spinner rotary dryer Do I need the ground spike for the spinner rotary dryer and can I remove it from the ground for winter storage?

A: You can use the rack with or without the spike. I installed mine with the spike and I would recommend this route if you are planning on letting it spin and for storing it the winter. The spike was very easy to install and the drying rack is easy to put in and remove from the spike. Not sure if your second part of the question refers to removing the ground spike, but it can just be kept in the ground and the plastic plug can be placed in it to prevent debris or snow from filling the spike. Hope this helps.

Q: description says the material is "cast iron" what part is made of cast iron? keep in mind cast iron to me is the same as CAST IRON frying pans and machinery from the past. if it was truly made of cast iron then the +/- 5kg weight is way off

A: This answer isn't correct, there isn't a tub for the concrete included. There's the main tube but no other and I can't find the cement insert at Canadian Tire mentioned as an option on the packaging.

Q: Are the Brabantia outdoor dryers height adjustable? Can you hang laundry at comfortable height, then raise the dryer when it is fully loaded? Some of my family are quite short.

A: The Brabantia dryer is not adjustable. The Brabantia Outdoor Umbrella Clothes Dryer, 60-m product # 42-8857 does have the Smart 'Lift-O-Matic' system wich allows you to adjust the dryer to your ideal working height (from 129 to 187 cm).
