The glass feels like plastic, and the hot coffee you drink passes through the actually plastic grates so I would suggest going for a French press that doesn’t leak plastic into your coffee and your blood

Thank you for your feedback! The CREMA French Press features a borosilicate glass carafe, which is not plastic, and a premium, food-grade stainless steel filter. To keep the press lightweight and protected, the frame and lid are made from BPA-free plastic. Your coffee will only momentarily come into contact with the plastic as it passes through the grill on the lid above the spout. Great Spout, Terrible Ferrule on the Plunger Post

While this french press has the best spout of any press I have ever purchased, cheaping out on the ferrule at the top of the press section (where it connects to the plunger post) is one of the worst cases of false economy I have ever seen. It gave out in less than a year. Thank the Lord I kept the metal ferrule (in fact the entire plunger) from my last french press.
