A couple of months back, I purchased the model above this one for myself. Screen vs. LEDs seems to be the only material difference. When my son's phone battery started misbehaving, discharging much quicker than normal, and usually when he was on campus, seeing this on sale seemed like a great backup for him. No long term commentary yet, but for the short time we have had these, they have worked very well. Note: Some wall chargers may not get the power bank over 80% charged, but that may not really be a bad thing over time.

I’ve had this item for a few months and it worked fine for about 6 mths. Then all of a sudden it starts heating up. Not only the charger but my iPhone and my Apple Watch and anything else I charge with it. My phone stops charging and then the phone screen reads that it won’t continue to charge “until it reaches a temperature where it’s safe to continue”. Now this makes me worried because what’s happening what I’m charging when they hit these temps. Very unsafe cause now I’m scared to place it any where because it does heat up so hot that I worry about catching fire or even worse…. Tried to return to cdn tire but because I paid cash and don’t have the box with the receipt they will have nothing to do with it. So now I’m out the charge or getting an exchange.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: This product worked for a couple of months ... now the unit has bulged so it's no longer flat and gets extremely hot when charging .. I have put it outside on concrete to cool.. are there recalls as this seems unsafe to me.
