A: It is cotton and quite soft and comfortable to lounge on in my opinion. It holds me and my partner comfortably.

A: If I remember correctly, it came with two heavy duty S hooks, but it did not come with strapping/anything to go around trees. I've been using the straps from a cheap camp-style single person unit, and the provided S hooks, and it's been fine (even with 380 lbs in the hammock)
