I could never imagine spending $55 on this kettle. Its a kettle and thats about it. No LED to indicate it is on, manual lid to remove. It works and thats about it. The lid part surprised me.

Q: Be ware: 3 red plastic discs attached to the inside of the kettle near the bottom, so you boil water with plastic. Even if it is PCB free, boiled water with plastic must still contain trace plastic particles. Poor design

Q: Good day, just receive the kettle KE1700SD was somehow surprised that there is some red plastic plastic levels inside. We are are not too keen to boil water with those red levels inside. Are the Black and Decker kettle have these red levels inside ?
