Q: Is this double braided rope (braided core & outer layer)?

A: No, I don't believe it is. If it were double braided it should be clearly labeled "double braided' and it would have a safe working load much greater than 143 lb. Polyester double braid has a safe working load of about 400 lb. and a breaking strength of about 2000 lb.

Q: How much weight can this rope hold? Can this hold 100lbs suspended in the air overnight? (hanging backpack in a tree when camping).
