A: The lid fits tightly and keeps water out, however there is no gasket, so I doubt that it is air tight in the strictest sense of the word.

A: I've never tried this myself, but it might work. The lid is reasonably tight, although I can't vouch for how airtight is would be.

Q: How many pounds of bird seed will this 22L can hold?

A: Approximate hold capacity is up to 20 lbs.* Please note that the *hold capacity will vary depending on particle size. (Weight based on medium sized kibble.) For finer bird seed however; you should be able to fit closer to 30-35 lbs. without issue. Thank you for supporting BEHRENS!

Q: Has anyone found this proof against raccoons? thnx

A: The answer is a 100% yes. Our locking lid storage cans are rodent proof (including raccoons). The proprietary locking bail keeps the lid locked and even if the raccoon(s) are able to disengage the locking mechanism; our lids are friction-fit tight and cannot be easily removed. Additionally, the steel construction keeps critters from chewing through like we’ve seen happen with plastic containers.
