    I bought this stuff to use in a egg smoker. First thought when I opened the bag was that the chunks were very small almost like flakes vice chuncks of charcoal which is prefered. The coal lit relatively easily and but it burnt through very fast. Usually in an 8hr smoke I dont need to add charcoal. This stuff I needed to add every hour just to keep temp at 225. It extended my smoke by 6 hrs do to having to remove the meet and add charcoal each our. My pork shoulder must have thought it was in a thermal spa. Needless to sa, this charcoal is complete garbage for smoking. Maybe better for grilling but dont expect to get bang for buck. I challenge the company on the "100% hardwood" it burns like soft wood, fast and low. So much for made in Canada.

    will not buy again. when I opened the bag it was like gravel with only one or two chunks that actually looked what you would expect from lump charcoal.
