Does NOT fit a Briggs & Stratton 6.0 mower engine

I purchased this for a Scott's mower with a 6.0hp Briggs and Stratton engine. The package says it fits most 1.75" gas tanks. I measured the tank on my mower and it's 1.75" yet when I tried this it is way too big. It's almost 2 inches. I honestly think there is some sort of packaging error.

No, I do not recommend this product.

A: Description says it is "Plastic lawn mower gas tank fuel cap" especially Tecumseh 1-3/4” I.D small lawn mower (like mowers, tillers, snowblowers etc...) or other small engines. Tecumseh is a manufacturer of small engines for outdoor power equipment. I wouldn't use it on a vehicle gas tank even if it did fit, my 2¢ worth.
