Light weight, easy to drive, value for money. 5 star for Raleigh, 0 for CT assemblers

I just got mine . Excellent quality of parts and materials used by Raleigh. The problem is with Canadian tire assembly guys. They don’t assemble it professionally. I can see a-lot of scratches on new bike obviously those mechanics do not assemble it carefully and i have to tune up by myself at home, Now it works great. Please CT train your assembly guys please. They are ruining this Worldwide famous Raleigh bike and their heritage.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Back pain,poor design

seat placement is too back. The cycle front rod thing is too long, plus the seat is placed too back and sloped backwards. If you want back, neck pain after spending 600 dollars, this is for you. No wonder they have to put this model on sale often. Whoever designed this , just need good guidance to reture from his job.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Raleigh Archer.

This bike seems to be of value for its price point. At the time of pickup, the only adjustment needed was seat height ... par for the course. I have only ridden the bike for a total of 3 to 4 hours. All is good mechanically. I guess the ultimate rating is that I DO NOT have purchase regret. It is a hybrid, so if there are poor reviews, perhaps some consider it a rugged trail bike, which it is not. I am 57 and did the MTB in my former years but now realize road, groomed trails are what I am only interested in. If this review helps anyone out, then good. Consider your own situation when making a decision on whether this Archer is or isn't for you ... common sense!

Questions

Q: would this bike work to pull a bike trailer with children in it?

2 Answers
  • A: I would very much think so, yes. As long as YOUR trailer connects with the bike. The slightly thinner tires create LESS road friction as compared to a true MTB. The rest is up to you ... lol.

Q: - What is the frame size? - Can you lock the front suspension? - What is the suggested weight limit?

2 Answers
  • A: Frame size is 18”. The suspension fork does not have a lockout feature. We would suggest speaking to the Department Manager of your local Canadian Tire store to find the bicycle that best suits your needs.

Q: Sorry, your answer isn't helpful. I need a 26 inch bike. 27.5 and 29 inch are too big. Why are some bikes described as being these sizes, but the particular bike isn't?

1 Answer
  • A: Sorry to hear you weren't happy with the response. The wheel size for road and hybrid bikes are usually described in different terms. eg. 700 C, not 26", 27.5" or 29", this is standard across the bike industry. 700C is basically the same size as 29" for your reference. Perhaps you'd like to look in the "Comfort" section of bikes, as there are lots of 26" options there. Raleigh Misty, or Cafe for example.
