Terrible!

Bought in late January (lives in Newfoundland) as replace for my outdoor thermometer... it would not register below 0C even when temp was -15C... only explanation I have is that the coil on the back is exposed and it "freezes" thereby preventing movement... I notify the distributor (company in Quebec) and it acknowledged my enquiry but declined to explain why it doesn't work for below 0C temps... DO NOT BUY!

Accurate and Well Designed

Living in the Yukon, I have discovered it is difficult to find thermometers that read below -40 °C, and often they are inaccurate by up to 10 °C. Well this thermometer will still not show the coldest temperatures possible up here (-63 °C), it has been very accurate to -41 °C.

Q: Why is there no cover on it? it says to remove cover and wondering how is it protected from the elements??

A: There is a plastic cover over the thermometer that needs to be removed. First image shows the packaged product with the label to remove the plastic cover. In the second picture, I have lifted the cover for a better view.
