Seems like bait and switch

The product is not what the pic shows. I bought the product (not the one in the pic). I returned it because it was not easy to use. I wanted the one in the pic and when directed to the aisle. , the one I returned was the one there. The one in the pic was not there. The product code for the one I bought and returned matches the one in the pic. I pointed this out to the customer service desk who was as puzzled as I. I would be happy to try the one in the pic.

  • A: We had the same happen with the opener, you have to push the button again to stop it. It is finicky thought.

Q: One Touch Automatic Can Opener #042-1801-8 - I had an older one and it left the cans very sharp and my Mom cut herself on it. Does this new model cut without leaving the sharp edges of the can?

  • A: These types of can openers all operate in the same manner. The unit removes the lid by cutting the lid off the body of the can. Kindly note that the lid's edge is not sharp, but the edge of the can will be sharp and should be handled with care.

  • A: I Googled replacing batteries in one touch can opener. Good Luck! :) Q : How do I replace the batteries? A : The bottom cover slides back to reveal the battery compartment. Remove the old batteries and install 2 AA alkaline or rechargeable batteries into the battery compartment according to the polarity (+/-) instruction. Replace the bottom cover after the batteries have been installed. Q : The One Touch™ Automatic Can Opener stopped in the middle while opening a can. What should I do? A : Occasional jams might occur due to deformed can rims or low battery level. First, press and hold the small button at the rear of the Can Opener: it activates the reverse and releases the can. Please check your batteries after a jam. If the reverse does not work, it means that your batteries are depleted. In this case you can insert a 4 or 5mm crosshead (or flat) screwdriver into the Stall Release Screw, and slowly turn it in a clockwise direction until the can is released. Then replace the batteries.

  • A: This device has been updated. To access the battery compartment, you simultaneously press inward the dedicated markings on both sides and pull back to open. The loading or unloading of the batteries can be done from the rear (not from under like before).

Q: Hi manual says to clean, remove batteries and front cap which is the cap partially covering the blade. No instructions how to remove front cap to fully clean the blades. How do you clean yours? How to remove front cap? Thanks

  • A: I don’t remove the cap, I turn it on and the blade drops down and I take an old toothbrush with a little container filled with soap and water and brush the blade carefully without the brush dripping wet, I try to get the toothbrush only slightly dampen. Then I open a can with 3-4 layers of waxed paper and I wipe it carefully with a cloth and then I press the button to make the blade go back in and stopping the can opener.Hope that helps.
