    Not impressed

I installed this unit same day I purchased. I plugged it in and it crackled and began to smoke... bulbs and fixture were very hot and required cool down prior to handling. Not impressed based on price point and expected something more reliable. Will not be replacing with like unit.

    nothing but trouble

I bought this about a month ago and it shorts out every other time i turn it on , I then reset the GFI ,take the light apart again and look for pinched wires or anywhere a wire may be shorting out , I never do find any and went so far this last time as to zip tie the wires all out of the way from any contact points , only possible cause could be internally in the ballast possibly , I am fed up and have taken it down

No, I do not recommend this product.

I have a small shop in the yard that I have two of these in, works great for the small space-easy to hang and plugs right in.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Great light for shop

We use ours to light the area under the stairs which seemed easier than running an actual light fixture to the area. Produces tons of light and because it plugs into an outlet it's easy to move and use in a different location when the need arises.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Whats the difference from the T8 and the T12? Which is more energy efficient?

    3 Answers
    • A: T12's are indeed out of date. The T8 lamp is still being used in storage warehouses but are no way near as good as the T5. We are currently doing lighting evaluations with T5 and T8 lamps from ceiling heights of 23 feet.. While the T5 may not necessarily look like more light, the spectrum of light it does produce is more usable by our eyes, therefore giving the illusion of greater light. The old saying, "different than night and day" applies here.

    • A: This fluorescent light fixture is to be mounted using the hanging chains included with the fixture. It does have a cord with plug for simple plug-in electrical hook up.

Q: Do I just plug this in to a wall outlet and it will work or do I have to do some electrical wiring for it to turn on?

    1 Answer
    • A: Yes, you can plug it in and use it immediately with no wiring necessary. It's a nice looking light, no question, but I suggest reading my review of this product first before you purchase one. Internally it is very cheap.
