CANVAS Parkdale Loveseat & Ottoman

Pros: - as above....great design for smaller spaces. Cons: - both pieces come in one large, heavy box. If you don't have a truck or an SUV, you'll need to take all the pieces out of the box to get them into your car. The Canadian Tire gentleman was kind enough to help with that and to take away the big box for recycling. - as in other reviews, be aware that the screw holes probably won't line up, no matter how loose you leave the other screws and how carefully you follow the instructions. After an hour of trying everything else, I wound up using another big metal screw and bigger washer for an existing hole, and drilling another hole for another big metal screw and washer. Kudos to the pregnant lady who reviewed this and was able to assemble hers without trouble; unless pregnancy conveys super-powers, I suspect she got one where they accidentally put the holes in the right places. - the hex screws provided are made of soft metal, prone to stripping the threads (and heads) when trying to get them into the holes that don't align. And at the risk of sounding even crankier than I am already, why not use Phillips or Robertson screws? That would make it easier to use a regular screwdriver and/or drill driver. - the wicker was unattached in two places (see photo). I glued them, and on the bright side, the glue had plenty of time to dry while I struggled with the other problems. I see a question coming up in this review is "Would you recommend this product to a friend?" Depends which friend.....if he or she: 1) is handy; 2) has tools and extra screws; 3) has lots of patience; 4) has a sense of humour; 5) lives farther away than throwing distance, should soft metal hex screws come flying my way. It is a good little loveseat though, and perfect for our small townhouse balcony. And cleverly designed, with the ottoman that fits underneath in a pinch, and storage inside the ottoman. Both are lightweight but sturdy.

I won't lie, it's okay now that I have it together... but it's missing 2 screws that I was just never able to get aligned. Assembling this was the most frustrating experience I have ever had with furniture. I find it appalling that an item at this price range passed any sort of design quality assurance testing. If I could do it over, I would save my money and time. This took like 6 hours to assemble and its not that nice to warrant that.. Not the quality I expect from this brand.

This loveseat and ottoman is exactly what I was looking for, I am so happy with the compact size and the storage options for our small balcony space in winter. I was expecting the assembly to be extremely trying, given most of the other reviews, but I took it slow and steady and finished in an hour and a half. The assembly is definitely tedious but I managed at 39 weeks pregnant, and solo.

Super comfy and I love the storage in the ottoman and how it tucks away!

I am very pleased with this set. It is very light but strong. Perfect for my enclosed porch. The Ottoman fits perfectly under the bench when not in use and has the righ amount of storage.
