I did a fluid change on both a transfer gear box and front differential on a 2008 F150. This thread sealant is called up to seal up the drain and fill plugs on both units. And it works great! No leaks. Definitely worth the purchase and what little money this costs.

Beware! Not removable thread sealant

This sealant is not removable after installed. I used it for my 2009 RAV4 PCV valve and snapped off the case upon removal after 2 yrs to replace the valve.
Not recommended if removal is needed on service parts in the future.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Can this be used to seal a PCV valve?

A: I would have to say no. PCV valves are usually sealed by a rubber grommet. This product is for sealing threads.

Q: Can this be used for an oil drain plug?

A: No - this product should not be used on an oil drain plug. This product is to be used on a thread that is not going to be opened again. An oil drain plug needs to be open once or twice a year.

Q: Planning on using this to seal orifices on a Blackstone NG conversion kit. Instructions suggests to use Permatex #59214. Permatex site lists #59206 as equivalent. What's the issue using it with natural gas orifice?

A: Bonjour, merci pour votre question. Le ruban de téflon ne doit pas être utilisé avec le scellant pour filetage Permatex. Le scellant pour filets Permatex comblera les espaces entre les filetages des tuyaux et scellera la connexion. Q: Can this product be used for a brass gas fitting that will be screwed into a plastic outboard motor gas container.

A: Hello, thank you for your question on Permatex Thread Sealant. No, this product should not be used on plastic connections. It is designed only for metal to metal connections. If the threaded brass fitting is screwed into another brass fitting then the sealant would be ideal. Thank you.
