Q: Do you need rubber cement or glue of some type?

A: No glue or cement needed. The plugs that it comes with are a soft and very sticky so it fills the void and seals itself into place.

Q: How do you professionally repair a punctured tire in your store? if this is only for temporary repair.

A: This patch is like a rubber twizzler, it is pushed into the hole using the plug tool. Once you are at your tire shop they can remove the plug and insert a permanent repair plug. This is better than a can or bottle of fix-a-flat as when used that tire needs to be replaced.

Q: Is this for temporary or permanent tire repairs? In the reviews it seems it has been used as a permanent repair but the packaging says it is for temporary repairs.

A: The package does say for temporary repairs but they can last for a long time. I have repaired holes that and the tire still lasted two years until I replaced them. I believe that the industry standard to permanently repair a tire is to remove the tire, plug the hole and glue a patch to the inside over the hole. If the plug doesn't end up working well then you can bring your tire in to be repaired.

Q: Is there an expiration date on this product? I bought this kit back in 2013 and have not used it yet. Got a flat tire today (jan 2021). Are the self-adhesive plugs still in good condition after 8 years? Also, how long can we keep this product ?

A: The Product Experts at Victor do recommend replacing these plugs. While there is no stated expiry on the tire plugs, storage conditions can affect their lifespan. For use, the plugs should be soft and malleable. When used in emergency situations, the tire should be repaired at an automotive service centre as soon as possible, and moreso if the condition of the plugs are in question.

A: If you are using a run-flat tire, you should not need a temporary repair like our kit as the tire is made to run even when flat to allow the driver to get to the closest repair shop (exact information and run distance should have been included when the customer purchased these tires). This repair kit is for the purpose of repairing the tire to allow it hold air so that it can be driven to a shop to be professionally repaired.
