      Best Rust Repellant...

This is the best rust prevention product that I've ever used. I like that it is non toxic and safe for the environment as well.

      rust cure, formula 3000

Very good, non drying product. I use it for internal sides of the frame on my truck. On the outside its s bit too thin, and I prefer the pb blaster rust shield instead. Otherwise, this is a bigger can.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

My favourite rustproofing. I used Krown and Rust check for decades but switched to Corrosion Free (Rust Cure 2000) in 2000 after reading tests results from the military. I get it professionally applied but keep several cans of these for “touch ups”. This oil spray iOS a little thicker than Rust Chek and Krown so it still seeps to the bottom weld/crimps of vertical panels but doesn’t wash away in a few weeks like Rust Chek and Krown can on the undercarriage after driving on wet roads. I’ve heard great things from Fluid Film as well although I have never used it. Canadian Tire also sell Fluid Film but usually is found apart from the other auto rustproofing sprays and where the brake fluid and other similar vehicle fluid and vehicle lubricants are found.

Not sure if it provides some anti rust prevention, but as a rust ‘cure’, it does not remove anything.

No, I do not recommend this product.

      Questions

      1 - 10 of 46 Questions

Q: Is this product suitable to protect a car body with exposed rust on the outside that I don't plan on painting? I want to prevent the rust from spreading.

      4 Answers
      • A: Thank you for your question. Yes, this product is used for that purpose. You will find on pre-existing rust the product will penetrate into the rust and appear to be dry again. The product is doing its job and penetrating into the rust. It will require more frequent applications. If you keep the rust "wet" looking, you know the product is doing its job and preventing the rust from spreading.

Q: Will it remove rust from the springs under the car?

      3 Answers
      • A: Rust Cure does not remove existing rust. If sprayed on Rust on Springs under the car, Rust Cure will prevent these from getting worse. It will coat them with protection. This coating stays wet. It will protect them from continuing to rust and will make their appearance much better by creating a wet look.

Q: Can I use this to coat brand new steel winter rims that have been factory painted?

      3 Answers
      • A: Yes, this is the perfect product for keeping steel rims from rusting. As mentioned, the product is a lubricant, so do not spray on your brakes. Many people spray the wheels when they come off the vehicle for storage as well.

Q: When using on steel wheels, it it safe to use on both the inside and outside of the wheel? Any concern with securely mounting afterwards if I spray on the inside of the wheel? Thanks.

      2 Answers
      • A: I spray the wheels on the inside and out. On the inside enough is put on to stop rust between the brake rotor and wheel. The wheel nuts get a small amount of spray then wiped. I have had no issues with loose wheels. When my tires are changed at the garage, they are torqued to the proper value. I do check them with my own breaker bar to feel that they are all tight.

Q: Can this be used on an EV? (Dielectric?)

      2 Answers
      • A: That’s a question you should ask the manufacturer. However, I can’t see any reason why not. All electric components on a EV are insulated, same as any other vehicle.

Q: can I use this to spray in my car engine? if yes, is it safe?

      2 Answers
      • A: Rust Cure is safe to spray in the engine compartment. The product does not dry but stays wet. Areas the get hot, like the engine or exhaust will not benefit from spraying as the product will smoke off and not remain on the hot surface.

      • A: Yes it works really well. Ive been using it on my older vehicles and it really  slows down the rusting. I spray it anywhere there could be rust forming every year.

Q: can this be used in break rotors?

      2 Answers
      • A: Thank you for your question. Rust Cure stays wet and lubricates metal parts. It should not be used on brake rotors because of its lubrication properties. If overspray gets on the brakes, this will burn off with the use of the brakes as they get hot.

Q: Can you paint over this product? I wonder if a rubberized undercoating can be applied over treated metal and if so, after what period of time?

      2 Answers
      • A: Dont do that! It may work, but it's not a good idea. Rubberized undercoating few weeks BEFORE rustproofing.
