Excllent multi-platform piece.
I have used this piece as well as its replacement , the DBALL3. excellent multi brand, multi vehicle piece. a little more of a pain to program than the Idatalink alca, but still works very well. Because these type of interfaces can cause vehicle malfunction of failure when NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED, most manufacturers will not make programming or installation instructions readily available.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Useless

I got the prostart kit and interface for a corolla with a smartkey but I cant program the interface because I'm not a dealer or spend 2000 quarterly. Canadian tire (who is a dealer and could program the interface doesn't do installs). Long story short it's just a paper weight.

Dont buy this if installing yourself !

Purchased this item , then found out it needed to be flashed. Nothing said when purchased but it is printed on receipt which is too late as it is already bought. Ask Canadian Tire, said they don't do it. Buy XKloader2 to flash it and then log onto Directed site but will not let me flash it as I'm not a dealer. So they allow me to purchase their junk but will not let me update it. NOT impressed at all. Advice for Canadian Tire, don't sell something you don't support or install. As for trying to get support from Directed, good luck!
No, I do not recommend this product.

Works Perfectly
I installed this unit in my 2011 Mazda 3 and it worked perfectly. The installation was easy, but only annoying part of this unit is that you need to program it. The reason the programming is annoying is because you can't just plug a USB cable in and flash it, you actually need to get a programmer or have someone program it for you.
However, this unit works flawlessly in my car and I recommend it for anyone in the market for one.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Makes things easier

The DBALL2 product is awesome as it acts as a bypass to get around the immobilizer of current cars, and also acts as a bridge between the remote start and vehicle. I dont need to lose a key.
Although it depends on each vehicle, but it greatly reduces the number of connections needed between this and the remote start (if you're using D2D) and between this and the vehicle. (I'd rather only have to splice into 5 wires on the vehicle rather than 20).
This device comes blank, so for it to work properly, you'll need to have it flashed with the appropriate firmware for your car (I believe CTC will do that for you). To install, I just follow the instructions found on xpresskit's website for my vehicle, and install is easy, as is setup.
I'd recommend this product hands down.. a time saver for sure!

A: Yes, all of our systems are compatible with this vehicle as long as you use a DBALL2 interface module. The DBALL2 is sold under CTC part number #34-0790-8. This module will also need to be flashed with specific firmware for your vehicle. CTC can do that for you.

A: You do not lose a key when you use this interface. However, this interface is not compatible with your vehicle. We do not offer a remote start interface for this vehicle at this time.

Q: Bought the "ProStart Universal Interface Module DBALL2" @ canadiationtire Bought online 2 today ago, to pick up at csnadiantire store and the guy at parts desk, he said that this canadiantire store don'T flash the module!!! Is it possible?

A: Hi there,
The Canadian Tire store in Grand Falls does not have the capabilities to flash the module.
The nearest store to you that has the capability would be in Oromocto, NB, just east of Fredericton. We understand that Oromocto is far from Grand Falls, so your local store would be happy to issue you a refund for this product if you have no other way of flashing the module.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

Q: Will the "ProStart Universal Interface Module DBALL2 #034-0790-8" work with my Nisaan 2019 Micra 5 speed standard transmission?
1 Answer
A: Hi there,
Yes, the DBALL2 #034-0790-8 will work as an interface in your 2019 Nissan Micra 5 speed manual transmission vehicle. You will require a remote starter system to work with this interface module in order to remote start your Nissan Micra. The Prostart CT3271, CT4211, CT4311 products all offer manual transmission operation and are compatible with the DBALL2 interface module (which is used to translate the command for the Prostart remote starters to ones compatible with your Nissan vehicles on-board immobilizer and computer systems) that is required to ensure proper operation in your vehicle.
