15+ years still the Best!

Bought this a long time ago, used in extreme cold (spec says up until -40°C) as well. Exceptional build quality. Such a great product. This will work in the cold vs Noco is only good up until -20°C.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Questionable quality
Bought a 011-1506-6 in Oct. 2017 that worked well enough for a couple of years and then started failing to bring battery up to a full charge. Just sat there with amber light for 12 hours or more and unit became quite warm.
Customer Service replaced with a new one, somewhat reluctantly.
The 2nd one performed pretty much like the first one. OK for a couple of years, then not doing the job while overheating a bit.
Used a similar Precision Series unit (recommended!) which promptly brought the battery up to 12.8V, so it is not the battery itself causing the problem. Just poor design, poor quality components or poor assembly.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Does it's job but could be better.

It does it job - maintains battery voltage through winter storage. No problem for 5 years using this trickle charger. But this year when attempted to remove vehicle from storage battery was completely dead yet trickle charger had shown green LED in maintenance mode all the time. Confirmed battery had failed using an expensive battery charger/starter with battery tester. Would be better if the trickle charger unit displayed the battery had failed during storage. Battery is 9 years old so obviously due for replacement - just don't like surprises.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Piece of Junk with 3 yr warranty versus Battery Tenders 5 yr warranty
5 years ago
I have owned this product for just over 3 years and 3 months. It is no longer working. The green light stays on all the time even when products have been unplugged for over a month. I charged the 3 batteries I had with an Battery Tender Junior and all 3 needed charging. This product lasted just past its warranty date. I was warned not to buy this one and to stay with battery tender. I should have listened.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Better than advertised

This is the second one of these I have purchased. The first was for my wife’s car, which is stored all winter. The battery in her car is 13 years old and still works like new. This trickle charger keeps the battery fresh and working all winter. I will now be storing my truck for the winter as well and I know the battery will be fresh in the spring. Highly recommended if you are storing any battery for any length of time.

Q: A tow truck driver suggested I install one of these so I don't need a boost yet again. He said to connect it to the block heater. Will this work?
My van is equipped with an electronic anti-corrosion system that seems to drain the battery. Some weeks the van is only driven 2 days.

Q: Can you leave it connected to the battery for months?

A: I would not leave this type of charger connected to a battery for months.
It is meant to reduce the current/amperage when a certain threshold is reached and then cycle between this maintenance level and normal absorption level charging as and when the battery self-discharges a bit. But if the electronics misbehave the battery will boil dry.

Q: green maintain and yellow charging lights keep blinking back and forth
What does this mean
3 Answers
A: Answer: The flashing or blinking LED lights is a fault code that occurs when the charger does not recognize or detect a battery connected to its terminals. This usually happens when the charger was either improperly installed to the battery or when the battery’s voltage is too low or “dead” to be recognized the charger. Here are the solutions.
Solution1: First, ensure that the positive and negative clamps of the charger were installed on the battery BEFORE plugging the unit into the wall outlet.
If the charger continues to show blinking lights, the battery’s voltage is too low to be recharged.
This will cause the fault code to appear when a 12Volt battery falls below 2.5 Volts. During this stage, this can cause lead acid batteries to become sulfated on the inside, or cause damage to the internal plates.
Solution 2: Give your battery a “hard charge” or boost either from using a jump starter or from booster cables connected from another car battery. If your dead battery was around the 2.5 volts or so, this will bring it to around 4-5 volts. After this step use can use the charger to maintain and revive the battery.

Q: Can I use this to keep my motorcycle battery charged while it's not in use for the winter season? Can this be plugged in for prolonged periods of time up to 3-4 months?

A: Don't risk it!
I thought that it would maintain my very expensive 12 volt flooded battery, however despite the light staying green the battery completely discharged. Go with the Coco Genius, it works extremely well.

Q: Is a small spark normal?
I see a small spark as I attach the clips to the battery with the A/C power unplugged.
2 Answers
A: Completely normal. There is residual power in the capacitors that can produce a small spark. This should generally happen only the first time after you disconnected the AC power, but I wouldn't be worried anyway. You shouldn't keep the charger connected to the battery when no AC is supplied to it.

Q: can I use this charger to maintain charge on 2 identical deep cycle batteries for the winter by connecting them in parallel with one charger?
2 Answers
A: It should work but it's not generally recommended. If one battery is faulty it may cause the other one to be overcharged or otherwise damaged. The charger has no way of "knowing" if it's charging one battery or five in parallel, so therefore cannot provide the same level of charge and protection. If you decide to experiment, check your batteries frequently, but that defies the purpose of having a charger like this. I'd rather alternate the charger between the two batteries every week or so.

A: It should work fine with any standard 12V lead-acid or AGM battery. I wouldn't use it on Lithium-ion batteries.
