    Skipping sizes and useless bits

Bought it on sale. SAEs will never be used and Metric sizes skips 15mm, 16mm, and 18mm... which are the most important ones. Good thing it was on sale as I will never pay full price for it.

No 18MM socket in set, they rust and size markings disappear

Useless for any European car enthusiast as most have 18mm fasteners. I had to use the set in the rain a couple times and the sockets rust right away the same day and the markings disappear. They are not etched or stamped just an image. Really poor details.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I got one of these on sale, was excited to try my new impact gun, needed an 18mm socket but there is no 18mm, there is no 15mm deep socket, no 16mm, .. 45 of the 119 pieces are bits, who puts a Philips bit on an impact gun?? or better yet a flat-blade!! lol I mean c'mon better off buying the basic kits so you don't pay $100 for bits you will never use

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Can you please provide instructions on how to use the impact driver?

    3 Answers
    • A: For instructions, see the video of the tester: using the impact driver from the set and a hammer, he unscrew some bolts. Can't understand the Canadian Tire's answer: in the box, in lower panel, horizontally, in the center there is an impact driver. Also, in video attached the tester use the impact driver. Why CT say that there is no impact driver in this set?

Q: Which picture is accurate? I think that first picture (out of the box) is from another set: more than 119 pieces, some sizes are bigger than 1", in the second picture they are not so big. Which picture reflects what you sell?

    • A: I'd have to agree with the person above, I've looked at/and counted the pieces in the picture. First pic(out of the box) is correct @ 119pcs. The 2nd picture in the blow moulded case only counts to 108pcs. 81 sockets, 18 bits, 7 adapters,extensions,u-joint,bit holder and 1 tool. * if you add the moulded case its 109 and might be another product

Q: I got a 1/4 inch impact driver and was wondering if there was a way to use this set. I was reading through the q & a and there was an answer than it can be used and another answer that said yes it can not be used. So is that a yes or a no? Do i have to get an adapter? Or only be used by a impact wrench? thanks

    • A: You have a 1/4" inch drive impact driver? Then simply get a 1/4" female to 3/8" male adapter and your set to go. One thing that I will point out though...if we are using impact sockets, then we are usually using higher torque applications ( especially if an air impact wrench is involved! ) So instead, you could just use the impact driver that is included with this set, which I "think" is a 1/2"drive ( which is much stronger than a 1/4" drive impact driver ) and would probably be more appropriate for the higher torque situations at hand. Hope this helps you! :o)

Q: Impact driver 1/2" drive? Can you please tell me if the impact driver has a permanent 1/2" drive? Or would I have to "attach" a 1/2" drive adapter to it to use the 1/2" sockets? Thanxs!

    • A: It has an 1/2" impact driver. You can use it with all the 1/2" sockets and also with 3/8" sockets using the provided adapter (1/2" to 3/8). It also has an adapter for impact bits (1/2" to 1/4" hex) and other from 3/8" to 1/2" for the case you already own another impact driver or ratchet of 3/8" and want to use with 1/2 sockets.

Q: Why do all these sets hardly ever come with no or only one 18mm socket. It is one of the more commonly used wrenches in the automotive industry?

    2 Answers
    • A: Not an answer but found the exact same issue. I use a 18mm deep 1/2 socket religiously. Time for designers to get into the toolbox of a working mechanic and go back to the drawing board.

Q: the id marking are faded . is this a product defect not alot of use on sockets

    2 Answers
    • A: I have the same issue, the new "ink type markings" disappear in no time and as for all sockets being stamped, that is untrue, some of the set I just bought last week have no stamped sizing on them.

Q: Can you list what sizes are present like the other sets?

    2 Answers
    • A: The content list from Nov 22, 2012 is incorrect. This set does NOT come with an Impact Driver. Some sockets like the 9mm and 18mm doesn't exist in this set. See picture for more accurate socket set.
