Works fine on Windows 10. You need to find a cd-rom drive to load the software though. Resolution is only 640x480 but that's probably what most of the 200$ handhelds are. For the money this is the way to go.

Powered by your computer (so, no batteries needed), it downloads the driver automatically. I still have my old computer (with Windows 7), so I used VLC media player to view the camera's output (Media->Open capture Device->Video Device Name, select Venus USB 2.0 Camera and press Play). The adjustable light is good enough to see at least 3 feet away in total darkness. Could use a longer USB cable but I'll just have to buy a USB to USB extension instead. On the plus site, the unit is very light. All in all, very happy. The simpler, the better.

Makeshift Monitor

Installed a free app on my (LG Nexus 5 running Android 6) and it worked instantly.
I haven't had time to fiddle with all of the features of the ScopeView yet but it installed on my Win10 without issue.
I am rewiring my house and only need to see behind the walls. I just snapped the phone's belt clip to the base of the wand and Bob's your uncle. A makeshift monitor.
Even after reading all the reviews here, I still got stung with the little yellow dial. In addition, I could not see an image or the lights when using it the second time. After 20 minutes of testing the USB port I realized the cap was still on the lens. OOPS.

A: Probably not - although good value this is at the low end for these things. Check out http://www.generaltools.com/Video-Borescopes_c_37.html for ones that do from same manufacturer.

A: I was able to use the QuickTime Player app (choose File > New Movie Recording and then click the dropdown next to the record button and choose "Venus USB2.0 Camera") to get it working on my Mac running the latest macOS.

Q: What is length of pickup head and will it pass through a 1 1/4" x 90 degree copper elbow (drain pipe)?

A: Head is about 73mm or ~ 2 7/8" long. Minimum radius of bend is 2", so the answer is no. Wd need at least 1.5" ID pipe to get through 90 degree bend.

A: The answer depends on WHICH VERSION of the 057-4574-6 you have. Mine is black with a blue dial, and a blue larger button behind it. Hopefully you found the manual and mini disk in the cardboard backing before tossing it. It seems to be made by a Chinese company called CVS I found their website and software after looking at how Win7 labelled the usb camera it found. http://www.cvs-digital.com/borescope-m1.html
