Q: Will a top coat of sealant over the metallic (spray paint) protect the surface enough for occasional outdoor use?

1 Answer

A: Without really knowing the "project" and "intent" of "occasional outside use", it is hard to respond. However, ex, if the consumer was spraying candle holders and did not leave them out in the rain, it would likely be ok, as it is not exposed to the weather changes. dew, etc... - But important to note, this is an interior product and topcoating with anything will affect the "brilliance". We do have metallics, especially designed for exterior use "Dual" and "Rust Protector", no topcoat ever required either.

Q: Will I need any other paint product or technique to prep the glass vessel I intend to spray paint.

A: Important, is that the glass is clean and dry. Consumer could gently sand (220 grit) the glass first, clean off the sanding with rag and water, ensure dry completely then follow instructions on Krylon interior Metallic paint for application instructions. I have sprayed inexpensive glass vases before, they turn out very nice.

Q: Can i use this on my car, and how long would it last?

A: This is a craft paint not suited for exterior use or automobiles. We would suggest Duplicolor items ex: instant gold #047-1108-8 or engine metallic universal gold#047-7578-4.
