not very good at all

I found this primer to be complete garbage. The number of coats necessary to get decent coverage was excessive. I don't know if there's been a change to the formula since they re-branded as 'Colormaster' or not. This was my first try with it. Here's hoping that they haven't done the same thing to the Ruddy Brown/Russet primer which I use more frequently and have been very happy with.

My husband uses this for tools and whatnot, and he says that its good if all you need is a rust coat, but it rubs off when put on a useable surface

Q: Does this work on plastic? Me and my friend want to paint his Play station controller. But we are going to need to coat it with primer. And we just wanted to know if this one happens to work with plastic.

Q: Compatible with oil paints? I want to use this primer on terra cotta pots, then paint them with oil-based paint, then seal with Krylon ColorMaster Clear Finish. Will the Krylon products and oil-based paint adhere properly?

A: This should not be a problem. When in doubt, the rule of thumb is test first. If the surface is clean, prime, wait until dry, and apply paint. Krylon clear finish can be applied over top. Alternatively, you could just prime and then apply a Krylon Colourmaster Spray Paint overtop.

Q: Does this primer bond with metal? I am going to paint the front of a computer case soon and was going to sand it down, use this primer, and then use krylon fusion for the top coat. However I was just wondering if this primer is capable of bonding with metal.

A: This Krylon Colormaster primer DOES bond to metal as does the Rust Protector primer.
