Good for first couple years

This machine worked great for the first couple of years. It started squeaking (as another reviewer noticed) so we tightened screws only to find the squeaking didn’t stop. We took apart the foot pad to find the weld attaching it to the arm had broken! Metal fatigue at joint is definitely an issue with these machines. Recommend spending more money on a better machine that will last.

Good initial quality, goes downhill fast

I have had the CE 5.1 for about 2 years. It is worn out. There is a constant clunking from the right side - tried to tighten every bolt, nut, screw and fastener I could find. It clanks and the clunking is not like when you are missing a link on your bicycle chain. It is annoying and hard to get a good workout on. I am getting rid of this and getting something more durable. While the on sale price was fine, the durability of the unit was very questionable. I use the thing 3-4 times per week, 45 minutes per day and I weigh 200 lbs. Maybe a lighter and less frequent user would not have worn it out so quickly.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This is a great machine. We are not hardcore exercise people. This machine is easy to use, and to put together. It is perfect to keep in shape, and get your heart pumping and lungs working.
Great training for cross country skiing. We love it, and happened to get a great deal on it from a clearance sale at C.T. last Nov.

This product has nice lines and clean movement, but requires a bit more substance to feel secure on. The addition of a plug in for a head set would be nice, along with a cell or ipod holder.

Q: I have a horizon CE5.2. My question is...is this product supposed to be electric meaning once on a program the machine moves on its own and I as user will need to keep up to the program. My foot pedals will not move unless I push them. Is this the case

A: In order to obtain the benefit from the workout , the user must generate the motion (push the pedals) There is a plug in function required to power the console that provides workout information.
