Q: Can I spray this on my car's brake rotors to prevent rusting while I am away for a month?

    1 Answer

A: Hi Gary -- Thank you for your interest in Dry Coat™ Rust Preventative -- Dry Coat is a water-based liquid that once applied (via dip, spray or flowcoat) will provide a clear protective coating. Dry Coat™ will dry-to-touch within 30 minutes at ambient conditions and it does not attract dirt or dust on metal parts such as other sticky or tacky products. It is non-hazardous and easily washes off using mild detergents or common metal cleaning solutions. Dry Coat is safe to use on ferrous metals, stainless steel and will not harm most elastomers or plastics and it provides protection for up to one year for items STORED INDOORS. So, to answer your question, you most definitely can spray Dry Coat onto your break rotors to prevent rust and there is no need to remove it, once the car is back on the road the Dry Coat will wear off due to the exposure to the elements when you begin driving it again.

Q: Is this spray suitable for metal patio furniture ie: a bench or chair that would be sat on?

    1 Answer

A: Hi Blaink -- Thank you for your interest in Dry Coat™ Rust Preventative of the Workshop Hero™ line of products. Our Dry Coat product is a water-based rust preventative that once applied (via dip or spray) will provide a clear protective coating that does not attract dirt or dust on metal parts. It is ideal for ferrous metals and stainless steel and provides protection for up to one year for items stored indoors. Because Dry Coat is water-based, its rust prevention properties will be washed away by exposure to outdoor elements such as rain/snow/high humidity. If the patio furniture you reference is for use on an indoor patio, Dry Coat is a great choice to protect it from rust and corrosion. Best of luck!
