For a forward facing baby seat, start by removing the seat cushion first.
Press on the tabs under the seat and lift up.
STEP 2
Next, route the top tether near the back towards the anchor point so its ready to connect.
STEP 3
Route the UAS belt through the forward facing belt path.
STEP 4
Then check that the UAS belt has no twists in it and that the red release buttons are facing away from the car seat.
STEP 5
Check that the entire UAS belt is lying flat, placed correctly between the forward facing belt guides and not between the harness and the seat.
STEP 6
Make sure the forward facing car seat is aligned correctly and ensure the back touches the vehicle seat.
STEP 7
Connect each UAS lower connector to the corresponding vehicle anchor.
STEP 8
Press down on the centre of the car seat to depress the vehicle seat cushion.
STEP 9
Pull on the end of the UAS belt to tighten.
STEP 10
To attach the top tether, you’re going to want to look at your vehicle’s owner manual to see anchor locations and routing instructions.
STEP 11
Direct the tether towards the anchor in your vehicle and connect with the thick side facing out.
You’ll hear a click, and then pull on the belt to tighten. You’ll want it tight, but it doesn’t need to dig into your seat cushion.
STEP 12
To check the seat is secure, make sure the cords aren’t tangled. Then pull on it side to side and front to back to see if it moves. It shouldn’t move more than an inch in any direction.
STEP 13
Remember, always read the child safety seat owner’s manual before securing your child in the seat.
