Q: What is the black pole for? There are no directions except what's printed on the shower bag, which makes no mention of the black pole. None of the pictures show it either. Maybe you put the PVC tube through it as something firm to hold onto while directing the shower nozzle??

A: Initially, I was figuring out the same question. Then, I realized the water will pull down the weight of the bag and so the rope might rip it. That's when I saw a whole at the flop part of the bag. The black pole is inserted horizontally into the whole. It's not visible in the packaging but you can see something that's bulging on the upper part of the picture where the rope is tied.

Q: Trying to figure out what the small pvc "black pole" that is included with the shower is used for? woods portable camp shower, small pvc tube that is listed as a black pole on the box. Far too small to be any sort of stand or anything like that and unit did not come with assembly instructions. Curious as to what this part is for?

A: There is a slit on one side of the top of back of the bag. Insert the pole and guide it through. This will help distribute the weight when hanging the bag using the provided hook.
