Q: with this telescopic stove pipe do i need a stove adapter to connect it to the stove

A: The telescopic stove pipe will fit some stove collars. The pipe needs to sit over the stove collar and flat on the top of the stove. If the telescopic does not sit flat on the top of the stove a fixed length (DSP 12”, 24” or 36”) or the stove pipe adapter will accomplish this. You will need to check the fit of the telescopic pipe on your particular stove, this will then determine if you will need the stove pipe adapter or not.

Q: Can you attach 2 of these pipes together? If so, what is required.

A: Yes you can attach two double wall smoke pipe lengths together, this includes the telescopic length . This pipe can only be used in the room the stove is in. As soon as you penetrate your first finished wall or ceiling you must switch the the insulated chimney.

Q: Will this fit any stove and chimney requiring a 6 inch pipe or only fit certain chimneys?

A: The 6" double wall stove pipe manufactured by Selkirk is approved for use on all freestanding woodstoves. The pipe allows you to reduce clearances from combustibles from 18" on single wall pipe to 6" using double wall stove pipe. Please review the rating plate on the back of your stove to see what the clearances to combustible are for the appliance. You must maintain the all clearances when installing your stove and venting. The telescopic length makes installation and cleaning easy.
