T-fal ActiFry Express XL, 1.5-kg

Great product. To cook with so little oil is healthy and the taste is good.

I made chicken wings and they turned out perfect. Crispy on the outside and super moist inside. I can't wait to try risotto and I've read that it does cake too. Going to give that a try!

We were given this unit for Christmas...and in 1 month, so far we have used it several times to cook the following: Wings; Ribs; Fries, Perogies; Pork Chops; Pizza Poppers It works extremely well. The main feature above all the other Air Fryers is the revoling Paddle, which moves the food around for even cooking...no need to shake the or stir the food manually. The Wings and Ribs have a nice natural light/crispy outside. The Chops were perfectly cooked. We peel our own potatoes to make Fries...and they turn out perfectly with just a spoonful of oil, just like from a Chip Truck. It is quite a long unit, about 14 inches, so you need space...however for us, we can easily put it inside a kitchen cupboard when not in use and no problem when sitting on the counter when cooking. So far, so good. Next we are going to order the revoling wire basket to allow for hamburgers, shrimps, onion rings, sausages...and bakery.

No accessories. This model lacks the accessories that you can buy for others.

First of all, on the box it states 1.7kg and not 1.5kg. Second it states on the box for up to 8 servings.... sounds very promising.... as any T-fal owner will know that on the mixing paddle there's MAX line that you not supposed cross with food that you intend to fry, so having 8 servings sounds fantastic.... BUT later you'll see that all recipies inside for up to 6 servings. When you open the box you'll see that the pan itself is taller then 1.5kg Actifry, BUT when you taking out the mixing paddle you see that paddle's wall is 3 times thinner then 1.5kg t-fal , and the MAX line is less than 1" tall (see the MAX line on 1.5 older model). So I weighed the fries that fit under the MAX line, and it was under 0.8 kg. So what we're learning from here that by manufacturer's instructions you can't fill food above this line, so you're getting maybe 2 servings, but if you'll follow their recipies and put 1.5kg, you're taking the risk of braking the thin mixing paddle, and will have to reorder it very often or the pin that it sits on, as when there's great resistance( more food above the MAX line) the lip of the pin that keeps paddle in place will break. Very disappointed by this model, as all its structure contradicts everything that it promises on the package. Just see the difference between this XL 1.7kg model( paddle on the left) and T fal's older model for 1.5kg. Another concern with this mixing paddle , because of its very narrow and sharp ridge the food will break more easily as it cooks... I love the 1.5 kg ( family) older version of Tfal, and wish they'll stick to good heavy duty products and not going cheap with newer versions. And PLEASE make the replacing parts more available for older versions.
