Replace differential oil

I changed the differential oil in my rear wheel drive 2014 Nissan 370Z at 122,000 kms. The regular maintenance recommendation from Nissan is to just inspect it. I couldn't believe in the difference it made to how the car drives. The automatic shifts are smoother and the road noise was dramatically reduced. It's still a noisy car, but this helped. Not sure how much this brand of oil made, but I believe that Royal Purple makes premium lubrication products.

A: Yes, we do recommend Royal Purple Max-Gear 75W-90 for the transfer case and rear axle for the non-hybrid 2016 RAV-4.

A: Yes, Max-Gear 75W-90 can be used in the axle and transfer case of a 2016 Nissan Rogue AWD. Do NOT install in the transmission. The rear axle holds 0.6 quart and the transfer case holds 0.3 quart. The total amount should be covered by (1) quart bottle of Max-Gear 75W-90.

It meets API GL-5 and GL-4 specifications, which means it's specifically formulated for hypoid gears, commonly found in differentials. Q: Can I use this in my 2016 RAM 1500 4x4 front differential that is asking for Synthetic GL-5 SAE 75w85 gear oil? (This Royal Purple shows 75w90)

A: Yes, you most certainly can use Max-Gear 75W-90 in place of a 75W-85. The 75W-90 is slightly more viscous at operating temperature, but the difference is very small.

A: Yes, Royal Purple Max-Gear 75W-90 works great in GM truck axles. It offers tremendous wear protection, and the Max-Gear formula includes the friction modifier additive needed for proper limited-slip function. There is no need to add anything to Max-Gear in your axle.

A: Yes, Royal Purple Max-Gear 75W-90 is a great functional replacement for the BMW Hypoid Gear Oil G2 and G3. The viscosity of Max-Gear 75W-90 is slightly higher than the OEM fluid, but will still work great.
