Ordered a rain barrel last year loved it and just received my second one also ordered 2 stands to go with them. Will see once spring arrives how the stands hold up. Definitely would recommend the barrels so far.

Q: do mosquitos (or other bugs) breed in this product? If I were to purchase this product and put it in my yard to collect rainwater, would I have to monitor it or actively perform any tasks to ensure that it doesn't become a breeding ground for mosquitos or other pests. Thanks. Steve

A: The screen the covers the hole keeps the bugs out, as well as draining the barrell. As long as your screen is in good shape and is left on, the bugs shouldn't get to it.

Q: Can i open the screen part of the top to feed a pump in and host out? This is to fix continuous sump runoff issues so I need to be able to put a pool pump in there to get the water uphill

A: put a few drops of dish soap in your barrel - i won't harm your plants (even food), but, will prevent mosquitoes from breeding in the water. or, keep some gold fish in the tank to eat all the larvae

A: If you are referring to the part the spigot screws into, it cannot be replaced. We do not sell that part. It is part of the molding process.
