Q: Is this product silicone? Can I use it on my fountain pens?
2 years agoA: I don’t know if this product is silicone ,But I don’t think so. I bought because it was the only grease I could find with TFE. I used it to lubricate the loader valve on a pressure washer. For fountain pens I would use spray on silicone..

Q: I would like to move between Unirex or Mobilux (lithium based grease) to and Permatex synthetic. A full disassembly and flush is not possible. Can you confirm compatibility between these Permatex synthetic & lithium complex grease?

3 years agoA: It will work fine, but be sure to remove all existing grease so you will not create an incompatibility contamination issue

Q: Can I use this product to lubricate kitchen aid stand mixer gear?
3 years agoA: I've used it on many things from cars to snowblowers to power tools but not on kitchen appliances so far. I suggest checking the Kitchen Aid website for any recommendations. If there is any chance that the grease could get out into food such as through a ventilation hole, then don't use it. If that isn't a possibility then this grease should do a good job.

Q: Can this be used on piano casters that have ceased .? Will it ruin wood floors?
4 years agoA: Sorry but just got the question as it went into junk mail. Any type of grease/oil will make wood turn black. Especially hard wood floors. If it was me and my piano, I would ask a place that sells them what you should do. This option is not what you may want to hear but in the long run it would be the safest.

4 years agoA: It is a very good grease for the chain but may not penetrate tighter-fitting parts where the gaps are small. Used in conjunction with a penetrating spray lubricant, you can treat all moving parts.

11 months agoA: Hello Bobby24 and thanks for your question. Permatex High-Performance, Multi-Purpose Synthetic Grease is a High Performance Synthetic Grease with PTFE formulated to provide maximum protection against friction, wear and corrosion. Its synthetic base provides excellent cold weather performance. Unfortunately, it is a NLGI 2 grade grease, and we do not recommend it for use in your snowblowers' gearbox. Your snowblower requires an NLGI 00 grease, which has a much lower viscosity than the Permatex NLGI 2 Synthetic Grease, while our Permatex grease has outstanding performance in cold weather due to its synthetic formation, it is not the right viscosity to use in your application as it is too "thick" to properly flow and lubricate the gear box components. Hope this answers your question, you should be able to find the correct NLGI 00 grade grease as they are widely available at most auto parts stores.
