Product Details

OEM specified. Non-corrosive gasketing material designed primarily for use on aluminum, iron and steel flanged mating surfaces. Ideal when a conventional gasket is unavailable (not for use with conventional gaskets). Fills gaps up to .015" and cures to a solvent-resistant seal that will not tear or decay during service. Parts disassemble easily even after extended service. Old gasket material can be removed in minutes with the Permatex Safer Scraper.

followed directions to the letter, even waited 72 hours before putting any oil in to my brush cutter motor,and it still leaked oil,took it apart again and the stuff was still not set up ,tried it once wont be trying it ever again ,way over priced for a product that did not work for me

Hello paulw, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. Permatex Anaerobic Gasket Maker is a specialty gasket used to seal tightly spaced flanges. The package description indicates that it is designed to seal metal flanges. This material will not seal metal-to-plastic or plastic-to-plastic flanges as it will not cure against plastic surfaces. Being an anaerobic adhesive, the package indicates that the maximum gap spacing cannot exceed 0.015", otherwise the product will not cure. We would like to hear more about the brush cutter parts that were being sealed. Please reach out to us with additional information or comments.
