I bought this about a year ago and it's still working really well. The filters can now be purchase instore and online. It's really helped with the cooking and dog smell.

Poor value; loud machine

I purchased this machine because of the online reviews which were highly favourable at the time. My advice: SPEND YOUR MONEY ON ANOTHER BRAND. Over a period of months, this machine went from not-so-quiet to noisy. The filter is not cleanable (unlike other brands) and the replacements are not available at any Canadian Tire in Montréal. Further, I am not convinced of this machine's ability to clean the air. I would suggest spending a little more on a better technology.

It's loud (when on a setting higher than "low" AND the replacement HEPA filter is not carried by the store where I purchased it (Mtl - Sherbrooke). Knowing this from the get go, I wouldn't have both it.

Par inadvertance, en nettoyant le filtre permanent (ce qui n'engendre pas de coût supplémentaire pour le changement de filtre, j'ai brisé un fil métallique. Il fonctionne toujours puisque je suis allergique aux chats et à la poussière et je possède deux chats siamois Flame point. Je compte bien racheter mon Oreck! Oui!

Cleans the air in my home wonderfully!

Oreck’s Air Advantage is small but mighty. I have an older home that collects a lot of dust. And my son has an allergy with pollen. Oreck’s Air Advantage allowed the air in my home to be cleaner for him and preventing his allergy to bother him when in the house. My father recently quit smoking. He smoked in his house and I brought over the Oreck’s Air Advantage and it is helping to get rid of the smoker smell in his home. I would recommend this to anyone for cleaner air in your home. It is quiet so it won't bother you while it is running. We keep ours in our living room and it doesn't disturb us while we are watching t.v. or playing a board game together.

A: The Oreck Airvantage Air Purifier comes with a HEPA Media Filter, which will capture 99.97% dust, allergens, pet dander, pollen and smoke from the air.

Q: can this unit clear out the musty, mold smell from rooms? I moved into an apartment that smells like an old cabin :(

A: The Oreck Airvantage Air Purifier has a two step-filtration process. The HEPA-type filter captures dust, allergens, pet dander, pollen and smoke from the air that passes through its filter. Additionally, the odor filter reduces many household odors from the air that passes through its filter. The charcoal filter can help reduce the musty smell.

A: The accessory associated with the Airvantage® is the 1 year filter kit (Model: WK01234CA / CTC#: 43-7871-2) which comes with 2 HEPA filters and 4 carbon filters . This should be available in-stores and online in the next few weeks.
