Q: Can this be used with an extension cord? The outlet nearest the lamp is behind a bookcase.

A: It depends on the distance between the back of bookcase and front of outlet.The timer protrudes 4cm from outlet when inserted.I measured one of my extension cords and it protrudes 3.5 cm.Other options include cutting hole in bookcase at the level of outlet or moving the whole bookcase away from wall.

Q: Noma light timer 49550 not working! What is the purpose of the wheel at very top of device? Should it be turned towards the clock or towards circle with vertical line? Instructions say "Ensure manual override switch is in the "ON" position." What is this?

A: if its turned towards the clock it means its timed ,the vertical line and itl stay on continuously .its like a on switch .timer becomes irrelevant

Q: How to you know which is 6am and 6pm? Half of both are grey and white but then that means you’d have to click opposite knobs down on each side. For example: if I were to want them on between 4:30-10:30pm is have to click opposite side of the dial?

A: The indicator plate displays the 12 AM and 12 PM, and the dial pins run clockwise direction. See the below image for the position 6 AM and 6 PM. To set the timer on between 4:30pm-10:30pm, press the pins down as displayed by green arrows shown below.
