It lasted only a year and a half. Might as well buy the cheaper brands if you have to replace that often.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Do you really want a smoothie of microplastics?

I do not understand this trend for blender makers to use a plastic jug, instead of a glass one. A quick look to the used market of blenders tells you how badly these pitchers scratch on the inside, from any frozen items added to the pitcher, eventually leaving you with a no longer clear jug... Yes, all the frozen items or ice that you add to your blender will scrape off bits of the clear jugs plastic.... yum! Imagining the Mouthfuls of Microplastics that I would be ingesting at each and every healthy smoothy or icy drink is beyond a Scary concept from these blender plastic pitchers, untill they fix that, with a Glass Pitcher, I would Run Away from this product.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This product is durable for anything you can do in it. My sister used it for hot cooked spice blend and it went in such color. I have used it for protein shakes and ice cream making dont do it for anymore as its been ruined but still can be used for other purpose either spice blend, meat grinding or making fine powder of crumbs

Still working 12 years later...

I bought this review literally 12 years ago when I started college, to replace a crappy store brand blender that died after a few months. I still use this blender daily. I primarily blend frozen fruits for smoothies. I'm amazed that it's only now showing signs of possibly dying (burning smell from the motor during use). But I never imagined that a blender could last 12 years of regular use. I just ordered another Ninja blender to replace this one, but I felt I needed to post a review because of how spectacularly this one has performed. Pros: Powerful - Never had a problem with the motor being unable to keep up with anything I blended in it. It really does have the power to chop up just about anything. Durable - 12 years of use and still going. Both cups, lids and the main pitcher are all in great shape despite being used a ton and washed in the dishwasher after each use. All the blades are surprisingly sharp considering I have never once sharpened them. Versatile - does a great job with both the main pitcher and the individual cups. Cons: Noise - it is really quite loud, but... that's sort of to be expected I suppose. It's a high power blender. Single serve function - this is really the only functional complaint I have about the blender. When using the single serve cups, you have to hold the single serve button until it's done blending. There's no on/off toggle. This is really quite annoying as I often use it for single serving smoothies, so I have to sit there holding a button for a minute or two if it's an especially frozen blend. This, paired with the high noise is a bit of a turn-off, pun intended. I feel like I need ear plugs to make a smoothie. Mind you, this blender is old and I don't know if it's even sold anymore, and it looks like most or all of the newer models don't have this problem. As I mentioned above, I'm not sure if this model is even sold anymore, but I hope this review will stand as a testament to the functionality and durability of Ninja blenders. I have other Ninja appliances that have served me admirably as well. So here's to another 12 years of blending.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

Q: Ninja professional blender. The Powe button blinked on and off, the blender will not start.

  • A: Great security feature! The power light blinks on & off if the blender cup/pitcher is not locked in place or if nothing is in the electrical base. Recheck whether the cup/pitcher is turned to the left so that it locks in place then the power light will become steady (not blink) & you are safe to blend.

Q: How about the noise level ?

3 Answers
  • A: Its a Blender! All blenders are noisy, but this one is much less noisy than our previous one and we use frozen fruit and berries for our smoothies. It is much quicker as well so you make less noise for less time, Double win there. I wouldn't use it if people were sleeping! Just saying.

  • A: As mentioned they are dishwasher safe however they will likely turn cloudy and may even crack from the heat of the dishwasher. Better off doing them by hand. Just saying.
