A: This battery requires periodic fluid checks/top-ups. It is normal for flooded deep cycle batteries to have fluid loss due to being charged over and over again. How frequently you should check fluid level depends on how often you use (recharge) the battery. The more frequent you cycle the battery, the more often you should check the fluid level.

Q: Are these 4D batteries AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat)? If they are not AGM batteries, then does Canadian Tire sell 4D 12V AGM batteries?

A: This model is a flooded/wet 4D. We will be introducing an AGM 4D in early April 2021.

Q: What's the number of cycles that this battery will cycle down and back up on average before needing replaced?

A: We do not publish cycle life as they are virtually arbitrary. Cycle life is tremendously variable based on conditions like use (cycling or standby), depth of discharge, discharge rate, charging parametres and practices, and general care and maintenance, not to mention at what point any particular user considers a cycling battery to need replacing. Under normal usage and good maintenance practices, this battery will deliver at least hundreds of charge cycles.

A: The simple watt hour rating of this battery would be 1,620 (12V x 135 Ah). More accurately stated, however, as the Amp Hour rating is a 20 hour rating, this battery will provide 81 watt hours for 20 hours.
