Battery not worth the money.

Bought one a year ago and it sat on our compressor for one year, only used once. Tried to return it for a new one but because the warranty was over by a month, no deal. I only bought the same one again because I had no choice, we were in a bind. I'll never buy another one, total garbage.

Q: What is the AMP Hours 80 or 100 for the Product #10-2799-4 In the first details page it states 80 AMP Hours, but in the next Specification page, it states 100 AMP Hours

  • A: 80 amp hours. It used to be 100. Once again CTC has down graded their product, but not the price. The description and even the part number remain the same.

Q: complaints of only charging %80 to %90? Why are people commenting in the review section that they cannot get a complete charge on this battery? It makes me leary to purchase this battery. Is it a defect and if I purchase a battery with the same problem should I return it?

  • A: It's normal when charging the voltage goes between 13.6 to 14.5volts when remove from charging unit voltage goes to it normal 12.5 volts. Here goes the 90% and the 85% compare to the charging voltage.

  • A: I use it o a 70 lb Min Kota 24 volt trolling motor. Have never seen batteries go below 50% and that's with about 5-6 hours of trolling at less than half speed.

Q: what are the flags for removing battery from boat and putting it on a battery charger? ?

2 Answers
  • A: Deep cycle batteries should always be charged after each use. And when not in use they should be charged about once a month. This will prolong the life of the battery.

Q: Is this battery sold fully charged?

2 Answers
  • A: All batteries are sold fully charged. It is just a chemical thing. Add the sulfuric acid to a new lead acid battery and it is automatically fully charged, although it will leak current internally over time and so it may require charging after purchase to bring it to 100%.
