Good enough as a last resort, CT is open Sunday so that was it. These batteries have never lasted me longer than a year, so buy one every year or find something better.

Q: Will the #27-1092-2 7S-BS fit in a 2003 CRF 230F and what is the CCA of this battery?

2 Answers
  • A: This is a generic answer, but no matter what any specifications say, if you're not sure if the battery is right for your bike, bring the old one with you to make sure it fits. Make sure to match the 12v or 6v of your original battery, make sure it's the right shape, then buy the most cold cranking amps you can afford.

Q: can this be charged with a ctc automatic battery charger set to a 2amp slow charge

1 Answer
  • A: A 1 amp charger or less would be best. Using a charger that's much too powerful for the battery can lead to things like "false" full charges (i.e. the voltage rises so fast the charger turns off quickly but the battery isn't actually charged) or, worse, overheating and damage to the battery. A 2 amp charger is only somewhat overpowered for a 3 Ah battery so, if that's what you got, charge in a cool area and just monitor the temperature of the battery. If it gets hot (unlikely), stop charging, let it cool down for an hour, then resume charging.

Q: The acid will not drain into the Battery - 4 of the 6 chambers have emptied, but 2 are still full. Have tried tapping and have waited 36 hours, but the acid still has not drained. What should we do?

1 Answer
  • A: The acid would normally drain from the bottle completely in a matter of minutes. Your description is highly unusual. Please trying pressing down on the bottle with increased firmness, particularly in the area of the two chambers that are still full. If this is does not solve the issue, you can either carefully remove the acid bottle from the battery to inspect the chamber seals (have they been punctured or are they still intact?) and the piercing device within each cell of the battery, or you can carefully bring the unit back to the CT store for their assistance.
