Was great for a long time and then …
I’ve had this for several years and it worked well. Now I am getting an error message 8.8.8 … and it will not work. I’ve plugged it in to several different outlets and it does not re-set.
I have owned this charger for years. i think i bought it about 8 years ago. i have used many times mainly for charging boast and car batteries. I recently used the jump start feature aswell. everything works great and has lasted over the years. its very user friendly aswell, just hook it up and walk away.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This little thing is insanely durable, it’s always toting around in the back of one of my vehicles getting bumps and bruises and still works perfectly after a year and a half of use and abuse. I have recharged many batteries for myself and friends and for all the people saying it won’t charge a flat battery well then just boost the car for 1.5 seconds to get some residual charge and hook up the charger.... you Gotta be smarter than the charger man I know it’s a smart charger but... LOL This thing is small enough to fit under the hood with it closed on every vehicle I’ve owned and I have owned quite a few lol great charger and it does in fact shut off if you connect the lead backwards or if the battery has internal short or when its fully charged:) useful and durable!
Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Error F05 All the time? I bought two of these units and hooked them up to the motor cycles for winter storage. After about 1 day they both go to F05

A: I have the exact same problem!! On my 3rd charger since Dec. 09. I just exchanged again this fall, and always F05.
I have tried every setting, and always F05 after about 24 hrs. I believe these units don't do what they say. Has anyone had luck with maintenance mode on these units??

interne.) Vous pouvez
tenter de recharger la
batterie à l’aide de câbles
de démarrage raccordés
à la batterie d’un autre
véhicule. Il se peut alors
que la tension dépasse
1,5 V, soit la tension à
laquelle le chargeur
fonctionne.
Q: How long will my Battery take to get out of reconditioning mode?
3 Answers
A: as stated in one of the other answers, it might have been that a poor connection (wiggle clamps a lot) fooled your charger into thinking the voltage of your battery was low and that it needed reconditioning for longer then actually needed.
this has happened to me also
reconditioning seems to be very high voltage (17 volts) and very high frequency pulses to loosen the sulfation on the lead plates and convert the sulfation back into usable battery material
i monitor re-conditioning mode VERY closely

Q: Hooked up to a yr old lawn trator battery, display reads scrolling 8's, what is the problem
14 years ago

A: there are tooo amny variables to give a good answer, but i can guess at a few possible ones.
if the battery was frozen, it is broken (batteries for lawn tractors here in canada need to be taken out during the winter and stored inside the house)
if the vehicle had a power drain the battery is too low for the charger to sense it and it will not start charging without at least 3 volts at the terminals
the terminals are dirty or there is poor contact between the charger clamps and the battery terminals
the charger is malfunctioning
good luck

Q: Can I use with an inverter?
I don't have an outlet near my car... can I plug the charger into an inverter that is connected to my cigarette lighter plug?
3 Answers
A: For example, plug the invertor to a "battery booster" is fine. BUT with some battery boosters like the Motormaster 500A, make sure you don't drain the booster's battery or it may have problem charging itself. I ended up taking apart my Motormaster 500A battery booster and used "this" charger to charge it !

Q: Can I use it in an unheated garage in maintenance mode?

A: Yes, that is what the maintenance mode if for! Batteries freeze if drained, that's why you keep a maintenance charger on them through the winter.

Q: Cooling fan not operating?
Some other of these types of chargers have the cooling fan running all the time, but this one didn't come on at all during a light charging session. Is this normal for this charger?
Thanks!

A: This item we designed with current control fan, if the current is lower than 3.5A, the fan won't work. if the current is lower than 3.5A, the fan will work.

Q: Can I use this product to maintain a battery charge for up to 4 weeks?
2 Answers
A: Yes. Place the charger on the 2A setting and it will go into the maintenance mode that keeps your battery full. Ensure the battery is a good battery first, the charger is out of the weather and the cord can’t be tripped on and the connections either pulled off the battery or out of the AC outlet.
