30 years of protection and counting

In March 1993 I started using Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF in the automatic transmission and power steering system of a new 1993 Toyota pickup. I partially changed the fluid about every 30,000 miles. 30 years and 171,000 miles later there hasn't been any trouble or leaks. In March 1993 I also started using it in the power steering system of a 1989 Corolla. No trouble or leaks in that vehicles steering system after 324,000 miles.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Will this product be compatible with a 1959 Oldsmobile transmission
10 years ago
1 Answer
A: Our application records don’t go back that far, but GM’s Dexron specs have been backward compatible from the start. The last spec that Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF carried was Dexron III, so that means it was able to be used in Dexron II applications, which was acceptable in Dexron applications. We would need to find out what specification the 1959 vehicle requires in order to better answer your question.

1 Answer
A: Unfortunately the Mobil 1 synthetic ATF is not suitable for use in the 2007 Ford Fusion. There may be another suitable product that we have on-shelf, but would need to know what type of transmission you have to make the proper recommendation.

Q: Is the Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF @ CT the same as what is on the Mobil website?
I noticed there is a difference between labeling of the Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF sold at Canadian tire compered to the Mobil website and other stores was wondering if it is the same product, or is it specially formulated for Canadian Tire ? Thanks

1 Answer
A: The Mobil 1 synthetic ATF at Canadian Tire is the same as the vendor website and at other locations. If you are referencing the American website, there may be slight packaging or labeling differences but the ‘juice’ is the same.
