Q: Does this particular model have a thermostat for when it reaches a certain temp it will shut off and kick in when it gets below a certain temp?

A: Yes it has a thermostat of sorts. It doesn't have numbered temperature settings but has a high to low dial for temperature. The manual recommends to run the unit until it reached the desired temperature then dial back the thermostat until the unit shuts off. The unit will now automatically maintain the desired temperature by turning on and off as needed. It takes a little playing with but works good.

Q: Can you put this directly the carpet, or should you put it on a rubber mat first if putting it on the carpet? The heat comes from the bottom so I am just a bit concerned of it getting too hot.

A: Ours has been sitting on a low pile carpet for the past 2 years without problems……the heater doesn’t touch the carpet

A: NO it does not. There is no ground pin. Two prong plug only.

Q: When I turn on the 1500w switch nothing happens. The heater and fan does not turn on. The 750w switch works fine.

A: You need both switches on for the fan and heat to work with the 1500 w.

A: Yes it runs. It’s an electric heater so it uses the fan to push the heat into the room. Nice and quiet though.

A: I'm not sure. I’ve purchased the fireplace in the fall of 2020 and I haven’t had any issues yet. Used it for long hours while using our travel trailer. Used every spring and fall since then.
