Useful Gift!

Received this as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago and have use it for a variety of different tasks. The built in light and power bar come in handy and I have even mounted a vice to it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

We have 3 of these - bought one, and got 2 more when the previous owners of our house left them behind. They get the job done...would buy it again but would consider other options...it was a pain to assemble (but easier than building one from scratch).

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Confusion over dimensions Answers here say that the dimensions are "24"D x 47.25"W x 61"H Bench is 35.5"H" What is the bench portion (35.5") that is one foot narrower than the overall product (47.25")? From the picture, the bench looks as wide as the entire product.

  • A: H = height. i.e. the work surface is 35.5" above the floor.

Q: From reading the Q&A's I see that my bench should've included a cord but didn't. All my cords won't fit the plugin. Are the cords available separate?

  • A: I would suggest mounting a secondary power bar to your bench, also watch out how much u have plugged in remember current is always flowing to those items plugged in. I use the usb power one with 6 outlets on mine, you might want the 12 if you have that many items.

Q: I had no trouble installing one drawer, it works perfectly. The second, however, is jamming only part way in. What can I do about this?

  • A: I had the same problem, and found that I had the right/left backwards. I don't remember exactly, but I remember thinking it didn't make a lot of sense. Look at the sliders on the good drawer and make sure the other drawer looks the same. I think one of them maybe had to be put together backwards (ie. with the left on the right side and the right on the left).

Q: Can this work bench be customized? I wanted to convert this workbench to a table and wanted to know if the following items were easily removeable 1) the entire lower shelf and lower front bar, so a chair can slide underneath, 2) can the particle board work surface be replaced by a thicker piece of wood and 3) is the peg hanging board removable?

2 Answers
  • A: not that wouldn't work as it would comprimise the entire bench. you can sit at this bench with a higher chair and put your feet on the bottom shelf. Great product - i have 2.

Q: Discrepancies The drawers are extremely tight -- I'm not sure why they are and the power bar setup on the right side is reversed than what is on the box and there is no hole for the power cord for the light. Any ideas?

2 Answers
  • A: The drawers are not the best part of that bench. A lot of people are complaining about it. I had to bend the centre support a bit to make it fit. As for the light cord, you will have to make your own hole if you want one.

Q: Do you need a special extension cord?

  • A: No. The power bar and the light both have a cord with regular connectors
