The Mastercraft 2-in-1 Wire Stripper and Cutter Combo can be used to either strip or cut any solid or stranded wires and cables between 10-24 AWG in size. The wire cutter boasts a self-adjusting mechanism that removes the need for any manual calibration, as well as an adjustable stop that can easily accommodate wires of various gauges and thicknesses. I bought this and tried using it to strip wire at least 15 times as a test. It works perfectly. Another reviewer said that a certain part cracked after stripping the wire 10 times. I have the feeling that his was dropped on hard floor before he bought it or was defective when purchased. The plastic part is extremely hard and like hard materials is probably brittle. Everybody knows a diamond is very hard but it is also very brittle. If you don't believe me, take a diamond and smash it with a hammer just to see if it breaks. I had this very same model but had misplaced it. It never broke. I spent 15 minutes looking for it but couldn't find it. I needed it to strip wires on a smoke detector. The uninsulated part of the wire that are attached to a hardwired smoke detector connection are too short to wrap around the AC connection. If you're buying a smoke detector that is hardwired while you're at the store buy a wire stripper as well.

The majority of bad reviews here are lying, not sure why,it's ok stripper,11 bucks ok...no it won't break after 10 uses ,no it's not falling apart as soon as you open the package,I'm using it for a while still ok ,if your hands grow from proper places the tool will last,make sure you using what it designed for...also if you treat this tool as a main stripper then you have no idea what are you doing,these strippers designed for one specific situation only.....if you don't know,don't buy,and don't comment.

Very difficult to cut regular household wire. Can't even strip the wire properly. I would spend a bit more money and buy a better product.

A: No it will not. For proper coax you need a proper coax stripper which uses 2 or 3 blades. You can use a knife with better results if gentle and carefully done...
