One of my best tool purchases ever.

This thing is so useful! If you need something you'll use on a regular basis, then go with an air wrench. But for something you'll use occasionally this is best. No need to prepare an air compressor just to rotate your tires. It's great. I do a lot of my own basic car work and this will work great. I've got some really stuck bolts out with it, rather easily! It's huge, it's heavy, and it's unweildy, but it's convenient.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Good temporary replacement for an air impact wrenc

I am a home DIY kind of guy. I like changing tires, struts, suspension components... Pretty much anything that needs to be done on my car I try to do myself. I picked this electric impact gun on sale last weekend while I am waiting to find a good deal on a gas powered air compressor. I needed to change the timing belt in my honda civic. It's heavy and a little noisy in operation. Like other people, I would suggest a quality impact wobble extension and an array of different length impact extensions. At first, I was disappointed. Everyone said that it was quick to break free bolts. After 5 seconds of use, nothing. No budgIng. The crank shaft pulley bolt is torqued to 185ft/lbs, far less than the 350 this impact gun is rated for. Tried it again but this time I laid into it. After ten seconds the sound of the impact gun started to change and by about 15 seconds I had the bolt out! I AM IMPRESSED!!! This an excellent tool to have for the DIY. For tough bolts that a standard ratchet or a smaller breaker bar can not break, break this out and save yourself sometime and some money on a 60% off sale.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: How do you tighten things up to a proper torque? I was wondering if there's any technique to know how to tighten nuts or lugs without breaking because of excessive torque. Any ideas?

    • A: Use a torque wrench. going by feel won't work unless you are an experienced mechanic, and even then there is no guarantee you arent under or over torqueing something.

Q: Does it have the power to unscrew the car's tire?

    • A: That would depend on the how tight the wheel nuts were put on. The 54-1264 puts out 350ft/lbs of torque in forward and reverse.
